Here's the recipe: 1) Open SF5.0d 2) Open a stereo .wav file 3) Select a small portion of audio 4) Open Audio Plugin Chainer 5) Insert some plugins and press preview (I'm using Waves 3.2) 6) During the preview, right-click on the left side of the chainer window and click on "Select All Data" in the resulting drop-menu The system locks up for several seconds at this point... and sometimes results in a crash. 4.5 never had this issue. 5.0 always has. -S |

This seems to be a bug in waves. Even during beta testing I found this and it used to crash SF all the time but they at least put in a fix so it would just hang for 5 seconds or so. It has to do with the 3.0 series plugins of Waves. DON'T try to shift waves plugins while previewing or remove or add while previewing. Especially don't try to save the preset while previewing. Basically, be safe and stop previewing before doing anything with Waves plugins in Sound Forge 5.0. |

Hi Yes I see the same thing, I think it's because Sound Forge has to reselect "All Data" and this is why it takes (15sec on my system). If you stop preview change the selection do you still get the lock up? George Ware |

Could very well be a Waves/SF incompatibility... However, 4.5 didn't have this problem at all, and still doesn't. -S |

Stopping the preview does solve the issue... but remember that Sound Forge 4.5 had the same ability but never had a problem with this, even with Waves 3.x. -S |
