Subject:sound quality difference 4.0 vs 7.0

a friend of mine just switched from Acid Pro 4.0 to 7.0 and swears there is a difference in the sound (sonic quality). He claims 4.0 has more highs and 7.0 had muddier bass. He's checked every possible setting and performed several a/b tests. Even untrained ears notice the difference. Is there a reason for this? He's using loops & 1 shots...no beatmapped files.

Tell him to see a psychologist right away. :D

In all seriousness, did you hear these samples for yourself? Over the years my rig has evolved but as far as I know, unless I've finally lost my mind, projects sound the same to me and I've been a user since ACID Pro 2.

it's probably the type of timestretch he has selected in Acid 7.

He probably needs to set his loops to the old type.

AP7 has more options and each one is designed for different source material.
