Subject:5d, asfplug.dll not found

Hello,

After installing the newest updates of Acid3, Batchconverter and Soundforge today, Sforge does not open anymore complaining about a missing "asfplug.dll".
I searched my HD and it is actually there, in the Shared Plugins\File Format folder.
What to do now??? Should I do a reinstall?

Hey Robert,
The same thing happened to me last night
after I installed the latest ACID Pro and SF5.0 updates
one after the other. The fix i stumbled upon was to
go thru the uninstall routine for the update. Early on in the process, before it starts to uninstall, you will
be shown a dialog box with different options. Pick
the "Repair" option which should fix the problem without having to totally uninstall and reinstall again. I went ahead and re-booted afterwards just to be safe. It works like a charm now.

That was painless ;-)
Thank you Billy Buck, that did the trick.
I checked again after the repair, and in addition to the old asfplug.dll in the "Shared Plugins\File Format" folder, there's now a newer version of the dll in question in the "Soundforge 5.0" folder.

Easier yet would be to simply copy the file for the "Shared Plugins" directory and slap it in Sound Forge's root directory. Whatever's easiest for you.
