I just want to do some simple audio editing. I have a couple tracks of a guys voice and I want to simply cascade the tracks (maybe do a little editing). However this tempo thing is killing me??? Even though the tracks are recorded at the same sample and bit rate they are seen as different tempos. Thus, the first track will sound fine. Then the next will be really slow and sound like a tape player with dead batteries. So, inbetween each track I have to add a change tempo/key marker to adjust so that each track sounds normal. THIS IS A PAIN!!!! Plus if I want to have two tracks playing at the same time the have to play at the speed of one or the other track. Thus one voice is normal and the other is either fast of slow. Is there a way to get around this tempo thing? Or did I buy the wrong program? |

and please don't tell me to use the beatmapper because that doesn't seem to work on voice very well |

it seems you bought the wrong program. Acid is not a multitracker. It is a loop-based music production tool. Yoiu can "fudge" it to do things like what you're attempting but you really just need a multitracker like Vegas LE or Vegas Audio. This is NOT tempo reliant and has much more powerful and stable editing tools. all I can suggest for the moment is make all your voices one-shots or diskbased and turn off the "follow tempo" attributes and try to go from there. |

Hello, Also try adjusting the BPM, The higher the number the slower it plays so the lower the number the faster it plays. See ya, Rockit |

You are really using the wrong program for this. You might want to try Vegas LE to do this. If you must, just tell ACID not to follow tempo for the tracks/oneshots you are using. Peter |

How do I tell Acid not to follow tempo for the track? Where is this setting? |

>>How do I tell Acid not to follow tempo for the track? Where is this setting? << In the track propeties page. Tell ACID that it is a one shot and then it wont be affected by the tempo of the project. Peter |

Vegas is a multirack DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Think of Vegas as a infinite track tape recorder with as many takes or events as you can imagine. The biggest difference you will see right away is that Vegas lets you place multiple files of different formats on a single track. There is no one to one track to file association in Vegas. There is also not loop processing as in ACID. Download the demo. You will see for your self the differences between ACID and Vegas. Peter |

For my purposes, ie more than 3 disk based Gtr/Vcl/Tambourine tracks I upgraded to Vegas Audio as well. > There is also not loop processing as in ACID. However, you can stretch and shrink Loops easily with the mouse to get them in tempo. What I would love to see now is optional tempo-matched loop previews in Vegas. At the moment I have to re-create the arrangement in Acid to quickly preview lots of loops. PITA. Regards M |
