Hey guys,

So I'm trying to Rewire my Sony Acid 7 Pro setup to my Reason 5 beat session. The recordings are on Reason and I wanted to record and mix the track on Acid.

I went to Insert>Soft Synth and didn't see a ReWire Device Tab at all like it should be.

Don't know why it's not up there and was curious if anyone had a clue as to how I can get this thing to work out for me.

Thanks in advance.

Does Reason show up in the Plug-In Manager in ACID?

Some basics:

- make sure Reason is not running when you start ACID.
- make sure that no other ReWire host is running when you launch ACID - including ACID.

Not only does Reason not show up in the Plug In Manager tab, but I don't have a Plug in Manager tab. The only tabs I see in the lower left corner is Explorer, Track Properties, and Chopper.

View > Plug-In Manager on the menu bar or press Ctrl +Alt +1 on your keyboard.

I pressed Ctr+Alt+1 and nothing happened and when I went into my view tab all that was there was:

Toolbar
Status Bar
Focus to track
Explorer
Chopper
Mixer
Video Preview
Track Properties
Soft Synth Properties
Audio Plug In
Clip Properties
Show Video Track
Show Bus Tracks
Event Information
Show Envelopes
Show Inline MIDI Editing
Zoom
Time Ruler
Minimize All Tracks

Please fill out your system specs in your user profile.

Where is ACID installed? The default is in x:\Program Files\Sony

Has ReWire worked in the past on this Machine?

What you describe is not possible based on the code. Since you are seeing this, something is very wrong.

Please do the following:

With ACID not running, hold down the ctrl+shift key and start ACID. You will be prompted to reset ACID. Do this.

The should reset ACID to factory defaults.

Does the plugin manager view show in the Views menu now?

Of not, completely uninstall ACID and then reinstall.

Hey Peter,

Where is ACID installed? The default is in x:\Program Files\Sony

-Yes.

Has ReWire worked in the past on this Machine?

This is my first time trying to use it.

I reset Acid and still nothing showed in the View menu bar.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled Acid and still no luck.

:/

Did you fill out your system specs? There is no information showing.

What version of windows are you running?

Vista 64 bit.

I cannot reproduce this.

The only thing I can think of is that ACIDs plugin database is corrupt.

One final thing you can try:

With ACID not running, locate the following directory on your machine:

C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Sony\ACID Pro\7.0

Locate this file :

acidpro.plugincache.xml

Delete this file.

Start ACID.

This will force ACID to completely rebuild it's plug in database.

Please, fill out your system spec in your user profile.

"Plug-In Manager" and "Groove Pool" should be listed after "Audio Plug-In" and before "Clip Properties" in the View menu. Like Peter said, something's up.

Did you completely uninstall ACID and reinstall using only the update? (Works as a full version provided you have your serial key handy.)

I tried going to App Data and as soon as I got to my username I didn't see a folder or icon that said App Data....I'm gonna uninstall it and try using the original Sony Acid Pro 7 CD I purchased. I used the burnt copy I made. I usually just keep the original purchases in the case for back up copies. Hope this works.
