Notable Fixes/Changes in Version 3.0c A bug that prevented mono one-shots from previewing correctly has been fixed. The grid will now correctly reflect the current grid spacing (from the Options menu, choose Grid Spacing and choose a command from the submenu to set the grid spacing). A bug that caused ACID to crash when the Synchronization delay time (in the Advanced Sync Preferences dialog) was less than 0.3 seconds has been fixed. A bug that forced you to have to turn Trigger from MIDI Timecode off and on again after stopping ACID has been fixed. The method of scanning for plug-ins has been optimized to allow ACID to better manage third-party plug-ins. A Zoom command has been added to the View menu. You can now choose a command from this submenu to change your project magnification to Normal (F9), Edit (Shift+F9), or Overview (Ctrl+F9). A bug that caused some ACID projects to produce an “Unable to mix audio” error during rendering and playback has been fixed. MIDI clock now follows tempo changes. A bug that sometimes caused MIDI to lose sync during looped playback has been fixed. When you trigger playback with MIDI timcode, playback will now be begin at the correct spot even when you apply an offset to the time ruler. A bug that caused MIDI tracks to be mixed together when you rendered each track to a separate file has been fixed. Each MIDI track that is routed to the internal SoftSynth is now rendered to a separate file. MIDI tracks that are routed to external devices will not be rendered when you render each track to a separate file. In ACID 3.0 and 3.0a, these tracks were rendered as silence. To render MIDI tracks, you must route them to the internal SoftSynth. The downbeat marker position in the Track Properties dialog will now be updated when you edit the numeric Downbeat offset value for a Beatmapped track. A bug that could cause pops and clicks when rendering projects that contained loops and Beatmapped tracks has been fixed. A bug that caused some systems to crash when rendering Windows Media files has been fixed. A bug that caused ExpressFX to be removed from other Sonic Foundry applications has been fixed. The Explorer will now correctly display the names of mapped network drives. A bug that caused ACID to hang when recording very short takes has been fixed. A bug that caused some files to play back incorrectly when their sample rate did not match the project sample rate has been fixed. The Artist field will now be filled correctly when encoding Windows Media files. The state of the Copy all media with project check box in the Save As dialog will now persist until you close the current project. A bug that caused ACID to report that media files are offline after saving a project to a new folder with the Copy all media with project check box selected has been fixed. |

Wow, I see a big performance boost in 3.0c, The meters are tracking very responsively and not missing a beat. Everything seems to be working much better. Great Update SF Thanks, Rockit |

Sounds impressive. Maruuk, is that a list of things that you have had go wrong and are hoping they fixed or is that for real? If it is for real, way to go SF. |

Heh heh, sometimes I feel the list is that long! That's all new band-aids and if Rockit's trial run is any indication--many a glitch is asleep in the deep, for good we hope! |

I just installed the update and I have a few stange things happening: 1. All of my project files have been duplicated [?] and 2, Some projects which had WaveHammer in the master effects do not show the volume maximizer tab - only the compressor. The VM will show up after I click on the effect chain, though. Kevin |

This might be a lame question but... Under Downloads/Updates, Is Sound Forge XP the same as Sound Forge XP Studio. Should I download Sound Forge XP 5.0d and install it over XP Studio 5.0? Clarification would be appreciated. Later. |
