Has anyone tracked audio in ACID 7 with the new AVID HD I/O system(s)? My understanding is there are issues with the older Digi I/O devices, the new AVID 9.0 drivers when recording/playback in ACID, I am curious if the new devices have the same issues.... If you're talking PT HD I/O you're talking about also using either the HD Native interface card or one of the TDM-based interface cards (Core and/or Accel cards). If so, then you need to use/access the CoreAudio driver supplied by Avid. Problem is that driver, at least in PT8 was problematical and I don't think it's gotten any better in PT9. From what it sounds like you already have PT9 HD on your computer. Why not just record in that and then import the audio into Acid? Or for that matter unless you need loop access why not just record in PT? And if you don't have PT9 on your computer you'll need to find separate CoreAudio drivers on the Avid site. jack |

I cannot comment on the newest AVID hardware, as we don't have them in house. The problem we are aware I'd is that the latest ASIO drivers provide by AVID have bug that prevents them from properly sending position information. This means that our products cannot play audio through them. AVID had released a beta driver that corrected the problem, but pulled it from release, and never released a formal update. We have tried contacting AVID/Digi, but they have not responded. Unfortunately, AVID locks their drivers to the iLock device, so we cannot even debug the problem as iLock protection immediately crashes the debugger. I would recommend contacting AVID and determine if they have or will address the this issue first, as there is nothing we can currently do to solve the problem. Believe me, we want to resolve this problem. Peter |

Peter, only an FYI... I just received my AVID Omni and have had success using ACID 7.0e and SF 10.e with the HD Drivers 9.0.2.74, Windows 7 64-bit. I am pleased I can continue to track material in ACID.. Jay Message last edited on6/1/2011 6:11:04 PM byjej. |
