To acheive this process, the only thing I do is go into the play control (the speaker icon on the lower left of the screen in the icon tray). When there, got to options, the go into the propeties menu. There you should find under "Adjust the volume for" an option for recording, click that and hit ok. After you have done so another menu should pop up with recording option (such as midi, CD Audio, Line in, etc...) when there just make sure the MIDI option is selected. From then on you should be able to record with the little keyboard found in Sound Forge.
