Can ANYONE out there suggest a stable half decent audio interface that works well with acid pro 7 ? preferably in the $500 dollar range.Trying to get any suggestions form Sony is like pulling teeth.I guess their not allowed to or something like that.Any suggestions of what is working for some of you users out there would be much appreciated. I am using a Tascam US-1641 (now replace with a US-1800). I haven't used it for more than 2 tracks yet, but it is working fine with Acid. |

Thanks for the reply,but that's two many inputs for what I'm doing(just me)My logic is if i spend around $4 to $500 for lesser channels it might be made up in more quality.I don't no, the whole thing is just so subjective.But thanks again.Marc |

Marc: Lesser amount of inputs doesn't have anything to do with the quality of a unit. You could have a Behringer unit with 2 inputs which sucks (actually you want to stay away from any Behringer units as their quality control is non existant) or a Tascam or MOTU unit with 16 inputs which is fantastic. My advice: don't be afraid to buy something with more capabilities than you think you need right now. There'll come a time when you'll want those capabilities (inputs, outputs, effects, etc.). As to what to buy - again this is subjective as there is no one 'best' audio I/O in your price range. It all depends on what you want to do with it and if it's in your price range. That being said, the Tascam's previously cited are good, as are a couple of MOTU units. The first one is the MOTU Ultralite-mk3 Hybrid at $549 from Sweetwater. A little outside you stated price range but a very good unit that can use either USB 2.0 or Firewire for connecting to the computer. The other MOTU unit is the MOTU Aduio Express at $395. USB 2.0 and Firewire connectivity. NIce thing with either MOTU unit is they also have MIDI connectivity. Look up the specs at MOTU's site. Jack |

Thanks Jack.I tried the Baby face, Great sound but somehow the Germans have to realize not everyone is an audio tech.They have a hard time dumbing things down for a guy like me.It's bad enough with the learning curve of the DAW stuff that was just one more thing with the total mix on top of my Daw mixer so I took it back to Guitar center and tried the Motu Audio Express kinda the same thing only a little more unstable and I had to read the meters with a magnifying glass (no lie)I didn't need the test equipment that went with it seeing how I don't know Jack(no pun intended)about testing audio signals,so I took that back and now I'm gonna try a Lexicon I-ONIX U42S USB 2.0 Audio/MIDI. It's basic and it has dbx preamps and their re verb and all and it was one of the only support that actually has acid picture support on their website.All of it is way to subjective, so will see.Thank for the respond.To ,,,,be,,,continued,,,Marc.PS Guitar center has been great!! |

That might be next.The guy at Guitar center said the same thing and thats what he used.But they gave me a great deal on the lexicon so I took it.Thanks Marc. |

I just got a new Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 (Firewire interface) a couple months ago and have been really happy with it so far. Much more stable and cleaner sounding than my older original Saffire. Haven't used it for midi yet, though. |

Using an Echo MiaMIDI here. Works just fine with ACID Pro 7 and costs a lot less than $500. It's basic compared to what others have suggested though. If I recall, Sony can't suggest an audio interface simply because that would be an endorsement, hence why you haven't gotten a response. Iacobus |

your audio interface is the most important on a pc If the drivers suck, you can forget it. Rme has the best drivers for pc , presonus hardware is good but drivers ahhh ok on p.c., m audio got alot better as long as its firewire. |
