Does anyone know if Sound Forge 5 (and the batch converter) will work well with Windows XP? Will there be a patch? Will there be a new version? Can anyone share any experiences of running it under a beta version of XP?

We will be supporting Windows XP when it is released. If necessary, we will be releasing updates to ensure full compatibility.

For your information, I have been running SF5.0b,Vegas
Video 2.0g, ACID 3.0b and the Batch Converter 5.0
in WinXP(RC1) for the past month. No crashes, no BSOD,s
rock solid performance. The only SF program to have a
problem thus far is the Video Capture Tool 2.0. It will not install. It keeps requesting I install DX 8.0
or later. The funny thing is XP already has the very latest 8.1 already installed as part of the OS. So I did an end around and installed the Video Factory 2.0 Demo onto XP. Which in turn automatically installed the latest 2.5 version of the Capture Tool. It is now working like a charm with Vegas Video. FWIW, I was pleasantly surprised to find that in XP, I can record
cleanly in all my SF apps @ 24bit with my Delta 66 WDM (5.12.1.20)drivers. I could not do that in WinME, using the same apps and drivers. So far I am really enjoying XP, I have found it to be the most stable user friendly multi-media OS that Microsoft has produced yet.

Can you use all the inputs on your Delta 66, or are you limited to 2 Inputs in Vegas?

All six inputs of the Delta 66( 1/2 Delta-66,3/4 Delta 66, & S/PDIF Delta-66 ) are listed and are available
in all their 24bit WDM glory. I say congrats to
Microsoft for finally designing an OS that is multi-media friendly and extremely stable, M-Audio for WDM
drivers that actually work as specified, and of course
Sonic Foundry for the enormous efforts and foresight put forth in coding their apps which happen to be already, although not officially, WDM/XP compatible.
I am hoping for some great things in the next Vegas Video 3.0 release that will take advantage of the many
WDM/XP capabilities. Such as live input monitoring of effects and some softsynth/sampler implementaton with midi integration for starters.

I agree Vegas 2.0, Acid 3.0, and Soundforge work flawlessly (Better than 98se or Me)Bravo to all who worked on such a seamless integration. Im wondering if this family of programs is going to be compatible with Sound Blasters new Audigy Platinum eX 24/96.
