Hey All, Having a problem in Sound Forge and it's driving me nuts and hurting my ears. But first, a quick summary of equipment: --SF 4.5 --XFX 1,2,3 --Terratec EWS 88 MT Sound Card --Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 --Pentium III 600 Mhz, 384 MB of RAM --Acid Pro Here's When The Sound Occurs: --Randomly when hitting the space bar during playback. --And randomly when hitting the space bar during playback when another sound file is already playing in Sound Forge. --The sound appears sporadically. What It Sounds Like: --Incredibly and insanely loud static/distortion that literally blows your headphones off. --We've recorded the sound and it's a distorted and much slower/lower frequency version of the open audio file currently playing. The Sound Card --Outputs from the analog Wav Play 7/8 channel. --The sound also loops. How To Stop It --The sound loops until you hit the space bar and then the sound stops. HELP! Please help! The sound is loud, unpredictable, and frightening. It's sort of like Gallagher without the Watermelon smashing fun. But seriously: --Is this a buffering problem? --A bad cable/connection? --A Sound Card glitch? --Some Kind of Twisted Feedback loop? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! My ears thank you in advance! Steve |

Does it to me too...only I have an Echo Layla and different setup, but I know that noise! It is something in the communication between the software and the soundcard......never happens in acid or vegas! I turn the Layla off and on and the problem goes away......don't know why, but it happens. Paul |

Try increasing your preload and total buffering in Preferences->Wave. |
