Subject:microphone hookup

Hello all, I am presently sitting infront of my computer that is in peices trying to get studio .08 to recognize my microphone, tried deafult setting , tried wavetable, tried asio but was unable to get asio to connect even after following all of their advice. I have the mic pluged into the computer as directed and can even sing a song and hear it on the speakers but the studio won't pick it up.

Is the input where the mic is connected to available to be selected for recording? (Drag the track's bottom border down vertically if you don't see the recording input button.)
