Subject:Gap inserted when converting to mp3

I think I had this problem a while ago with other formats but now with mp3.

I'm converting various files to mono 64kbps, 44,100kHz mp3 and a gap is being inserted at the start of each file.

This is in SF 10c and is easily repeatable.
I have tried it on 2 different systems with the same results.

Any ideas?

Sound Forge is not the culprit. That "gap" is part of the mp3 spec. You can use any software you wish, and the same thing will happen.

That's not good news for what we're doing but it looks like ogg files are going to work best.
