I gota RIFF Header problem and DOS reports the file as 0 Kbytes, not had this b4 but ACID 2.0 is always causing my PC to crash. Have contacted Tech Support to find out what can be done about the problem and how to recover the file. Will post the info when I get an answer.

If a file is missing a RIFF header and has a file size of 0KB, there is nothing that can be done to recover it. Be sure to defragment your hard drive on a regular basis and run a scandisk as well. Keep your drives virus-free and always make sure to back up important files.

More to the point, why didn't they implement a few simple lines of code to make a back up copy when a file is open, much like using SF tmp files, or even like an auto save & auto backup function so in the event of a file becoming corrupt, you could make a recovery.

However it still does not resolve the issue as to why the only Two programs that cause the PC th crash on a regular basis is soundforge and ACID, Why?? Everytime Soundforge crashes it is recording something, yet when ACID is used to record into it never crashes?? only ACID crashes on playback.

The PC is VIRGIN never been connected to the net and has regular virus scans and defrags, Scandisk is the normal as it crashes often, but rarely says anything about disk problems, this time around Scandisk did recover some 32k of data and was saved to file.

If the message is "Missing RIFF Header" or something of the sort, there is no file left to recover - you have a zero byte file.
