Subject:VST lost when project closes

I am having a problem with my Native Instruments Komplete 7 VST plug-ins. When I add a soft-synth to a MIDI track, let's say something from Kontakt 4, a new Synth channel is added and the VST works correctly. But none of this is remembered when I close and reopen the project. The MIDI events are all there, and the channels appear normal, but no sound is made by those tracks.
Any ideas?

Using Kore Player and Reaktor Player here (because I'm a cheap bastard when it comes down to it). Don't have any problems with them playing back (but I do have problems with some Kore Sounds glitching, which happens whether as a VST in ACID or as a standalone).

Had the same problem using Acid Pro 6. No one in this forum seemed to have an answer.
Instead of paying to upgrade to v7 I just moved on to Sonar. It works as expected.
