OT: How Easy Video Production Is...

The following comes from this Web site:

Video production companies want you to think they are the only ones out there who can provide what you need when it comes to video marketing. There are many things they try hard not to share with the customer so the customer doesn’t go elsewhere. Here are six things that an expensive video production company does not want you to know.

1. Video production companies don’t want you to know about hosting companies who can store these large files online for you. They like to be the holder of videos and charge for making any additional copies being made and more.

2. A video ad marketing campaign requires a good camera to do the job. These cameras are not required or only held by expensive companies but can be rented at local camera shops for a small percentage of what you would pay the company.

3. There are cheap editing packages out there you can find to edit your videos for free or even at a very low cost. Most production companies will tell you their editing software for video marketing is the only software that can be used for the best results in quality and to increase web traffic.

4. They also don’t want you to know that your video is compatible with other platforms and sites. You can make your own videos that will have the same compatibilities as a production company for your video marketing needs.

5. One of the major costs of a video marketing production company is usually the costs of marketing. They do not want you to know about all of the free ways you can market your videos online yourself.

6. The number one thing a video marketing or production company that is expensive does not want you to know is how easy it really is to make your own videos. These companies are suffering now because of all of the people practicing making their own videos and they need as many people who don’t know how to make them not to find out.

There are many reasons why video marketing companies want to withhold information about videos. Many of these businesses have been put out of business with people making their own videos today. The things a business doesn’t want you to know about video ad marketing include how easy it is, camera rentals, cheap editing and marketing, and more.

They forgot to mention unimportant audio equipment and recording skill. Video companies routinely charge extra for mics and mixers and audio guys ... what an unnecessary waste of money! ;-)

You think that's funny? Look at their demo video:

That is amazing Steve - amazing that anyone is so oblivious that they think a robotic, horrendously boring video will attract clients who want to have a video made.

What rhymes with bankers and begins with w?

That video was hilarious. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the proprietary and expensive plug-in that will allow me to spruce up my videos with an animated spokesperson who suffers from aliasing and computer-generated speech impediments.

Anyone can say the site's wrong but there's a few threads here on how to make a viral video. Most viral videos fit the description that site says you don't need to make a good marketing video.

Wow. Does THAT ever suck.

For all the patently obvious suckage, there are probably enough "low end" clients out there who will think "experience, schmerience...we can do it ourselves!"

For example:

The writing is fromage ("Just add music and the party begins," is akin to "We sell you the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge.") The combing is distracting (but it's probably for SD TV), but I'm always of the mind that if you're going public, don't suck.

This breaks that rule.

Funny? For me the pain threshold was so high after 20 seconds that I literally couldn't kill the page fast enough. Really, really bad.

It's less annoying then the "high quality" annoying-AE-heavy-fancy-text-is-cool ads most big (I'd assume from the client) production houses show.

Oh My God! That is so bad. That is the worst video I've seen. I was a little upset reading what was written but as I went on.... I do the opposite of everything he was saying. Well except renting cameras... I'm sorry but I would be a little suspect of someone who rented cameras every time they shoot. I know my equipment, I know how it's treated and that it will work when it's suppose to.
When I saw the video it all made sense of where this persons knowledge had led them.
