I can't get Acid to fully isolate tracks when using the surround sound setup. I need directional sounds such as a door closing for an animation I'm working on so I want to be able to use all the speakers independantly

I'm running Windows 7 ultimate with 12 gb of memory and a i7 2.8 processor. The sound card is Dells Real Tek HD which is 7.1 but I have it set to 5.1 with Logitech 5.1 z506 speakers. I went in and assigned each speaker using the setup utility on the control panel (Realtech audio manager).

When I go into the device manager to check things out I can fully isolate each speaker. I balanced the speakers for the room and music sounds fine, but when I try to isolate the rear speakers in Acid Pro 7 the sound comes predominately out of the front speakers no matter what I do. It seems to have something to do with the way that Acid interfaces with the sound card which is built into the motherboard. Anyone had this problem or know of anyway to troubleshoot the surround setup in Acid pro 7?

hey did you ever work out the problem?

I was trying to do a surround project test today and had the same issue with trying to pan audio to the rear surrounds. I'm using a motu 828 through the spdif port to a pioneer receiver.

Anybody use acid to do surround projects?

ACID does not encode. It requires you rout each surround channel to a different channel on your MOTU.

You will need an amp that also has 6 inputs. I have the 828 and using the spdif out will not work as you describe.
