Subject:Quick Start Guide Mentions 2 Projects Open At Once

Hello Everyone,
I printed out and read the AMS 8 last night. In the Quick Start Guide you mentions that you can copy and move clips and loops from any of the Demo Projects into a New Project or back and forth between any 2 Projects.

How do you do this? Many pieces of music software close you current project whenever you open a new project because they do not allow multiple projects open at once.

How many AMS 8 Projects can you have open at once? Can you move entire tracks or even entire projects just like you can move clips and loops?

Thanks

AMS can only open a single project at a time.

What the documentation implies is to run two or more instances of AMS at the same time. You can then copy and paste between them.

OK, thanks Peter. I will open one copy with the demo project open. And then open a new copy of AMS 8 with a new blank project.

Hello Everyone
I opened 2 copies of AMS 8 and put a demo project in one window and then copied a couple of audio loops into a new project.

Now I want to copy a midi tack, the whole track from a demo project into a new project and can not figure out how to copy an entire midi track, including the soft synth sounds used in that track.

I select the track header, then copy, and paste into a blank midi track or try to. Acid instead creates a new audio tracks, pastes the midi track into that and of course that does nothing, because I did not copy an audio track. I copied a midi track?

Does midi allow copying a midi track between projects and how do you do it. The instructions in the help file work on audio loops only.

Thanks

Make sure the only the MIDI track is selected (you can, of course, tell by the color of the track vs. the color of the unselected tracks). The unselected tracks should be uniform with the rest of the ACID UI.

When you copy a MIDI track, everything should copy over (envelopes, events, etc.). The only thing that does not copy over is the synth itself, which is easily remedied by inserting it and then routing the copied MIDI track to the synth.

Thanks mD
In this case the project I have loaded is the cool sounding Alien Orchestra which is 18 midi tracks. Some of the tracks use a custom content software synth called Alien Orchestra.

I am not sure it that means the sounds in the project were just saved from stock sounds under a custom name, or they are included with the project as extra sounds.
