Subject:'media offline' 'peaks not available'

(Acid music studio 8 running under Windows 7) ACID crashed after I tried to apply an FX effect. When I reopened the file, it offered to restore an autosaved version. That showed all the clips but no waveform shape and each clip said either 'media offline' or 'peaks not available'. I then reopened the original version and it was the same. I've tried opening a clip and reloading the original. For single WAVs this works, but doesn't restore the visual waveform. For loops it doesn't work. I can find the original loop but it still says media offline and when I select the correct file, nothing changes. I noticed that the first time I reopened it, the drive letters (C:, D:) etc didn't show in the media folder, only their names, but now they do show and it's making no difference. The actual source files - wavs and loops - have definitely not been deleted or removed - they're just where they were. Is there any way to restore my file. This is my first serious use of ACID and I don't think I'd trust it with another song if this is typical. Message last edited on4/20/2011 12:43:41 PM bynlamont. |
