Subject:Bass Distorting - Recording

Hi, I hope someone can help, because I've run out of ideas. I've been doing a bit of home recording as a hobby using the PC described in my profile and ACID Music Studio 8. The interface I use to record guitars and bass is a Centrance AxePort Pro, and I put the drums on with EZDrummer. Everything has been working fine. I have recorded 4 songs start to finish, mixed, rendered to MP3...the whole bit...with no problems at all. But trying to record yesterday, the bass is distorting. I haven't changed any of the settings on ACID, my PC, my bass, the AxePort...nothing. But for some reason low notes out of my bass are distorting quite bad all of a sudden. At first I thought the batteries had gone in my bass, so I replaced them. Still distorts. I've used different leads, turned down the input levels on the PC, the AxePort and the volume on my bass....it still distorts, only quieter. I did even try another bass with passive pickups, and it still distorted. I honestly can't think why it's suddenly doing it. Does anyone have any ideas? Think of anything I've over-looked or may have changed by accident? I'm really stumped. Any help will be greatly appreciated! |

Try uninstalling and reinstalling drivers (or installing new drivers) for the AxePort? Latest is 7.0.3 per CEntrance's site. Iacobus |
