I have a lot(!) of old radio shows. I would like to try to remove the background hiss that many of these files have. Many files could use an increade in volume as well. Does anyone know of a place that can teach me how to do this? Thanks Walter |

To do this you need a program or plug-in that will allow you to do this. There are really not many places that will teach you how to do this once you have the right software. Syntrillium does have a free tutorial on how to do it with their program but it will only run if you have Cool edit installed on your computer. |

Hi, This is how to process any old radio transcriptions. First use Noise Reduction No2. Click Removal and Vinyl restoration, are both good for this. Noise reduction another programme within Noise Reduction has some good editing. Next try compression. This is available try a ratio of 3.1. This will iron out any level conflictions. Use the normalize function of SF. Set it to -12 RMS, instead of compression. There are several other effects that come available with SF. Best of luck. Bill Woolford. |
