ACID 7: drum sounds don't play -ACID Product Family

Subject:ACID 7: drum sounds don't play Posted by: rgcote Date:4/4/2011 5:45:49 PM I installed ACID 7 and I'm opening projects from the "Custom Songs and Sound Sets" content. The project opens fine and I can see all the MIDI tracks. When I play the song, the synth sounds play find except for any of the drum tracks. Is there something special I'm supposed to configure to get these sounds to play properly? Thanks for the help. I've spent way too many hours already trying to figure out what is wrong.

When I open the song "GTO" that comes with the Acid content, there are a number of MIDI tracks that have an input source of "Auto Input" and an output of "DLS Soft Synth". Do you see any data in the clips (or events) on the timeline for the drum tracks? Try soloing the track and routing the track to MIDI channel 1 (done via the same button we talked about earlier). Since you have Pro 7, also try and see if you can route the tracks to another soft synth like KitCore (which comes free with Pro 7).

The drum MIDI tracks do show signal on the mixer faders (the signal bar bumps up when there is an event on the MIDI track) but no sound comes out. This is true for all the drum sounds only. All the drum MIDI tracks are on MIDI Channel 1 and the selected voice set is "Vitale Kit 01". I can probably go to each MIDI track and map it to the appropriate drum sound using some other soft synth, but I guess I just expected that out of the box, the songs would work without any adjustment needed.

I'm assuming this is part of some soft synth that maybe isn't installed yet. I know KitCore doesn't come with that Vitale kit, however, so I'm not sure what's up.
