can you record multiple audio tracks seperatly? and if so how do you record the second track without it recording the first track along with it?

You sure can record multiple tracks simultaneously. This is all limited by the audio interface used.

e.g., My Echo MiaMIDI has 1/4" inputs, left and right. I can specify the left input on one track and the right input on another track and simply record them separately (mono, of course). I can even put the MiaMIDI's S/PDIF (digital) recording on another track if I want (which is what I typically do when I record a dry track for guitar).

The important thing to note here is that the specific input must be set at the track level. Expand the track vertically if you don't see the button. Your specific audio interface's ASIO or WDM driver should also be chosen under Options > Preferences > Audio Device on the menu bar. (This is for ACID Pro 7; it may be slightly different for earlier versions.)

I need to correct something as I noticed you mentioned Music Studio 6:

I believe multitrack digital audio recording did not start until Music Studio 7. (In other words, you're stuck with recording one digital audio track at a time in Music Studio 6.) You can, of course, upgrade to Music Studio 8 and get this ability, however.

Sorry for the confusion. :(
