i am using acid 6.0. i have my vestax dj mixer hooked up via usb and whenever i hit record or check the monitor box i am getting feedback..what am i doing wrong??

Being able to monitor what's recording while playing back at the same time is dependent on the interface being used. Most pro-level interfaces provide this in some way but they also all do it a bit differently. You'll have to check your manual to find out how it's done.

Be sure that whatever track is recording is recording from a specific input. (It's been ages since I touched version 6 but it should be a case of selecting the recording input at the track level.)
