Subject:Sound Forge and Microsoft Outlook conflict!

I have discovered a conflict between Microsoft Office 97 and Sound Forge, If Office 97 is installed and I am asked to make a reinstall of Sound Forge, Microsoft Outlook will not run. If I then reinstall Office 97 both programs will run until the next time I'm asked to reinstall Sound Forge. This would not be such a huge problem except that I'm asked so frequently (or told that "Sound Forge is not set up on your computer properly, please reinstall") I don't understand why this is happening. I cannot figure out what the pattern is here. In my computer I have two sound cards, but with two different boot hardware configurations....one for each card, a Xefiro, and an Aureal Vortex. I need both because the Xefiro will not function properly with my video editing applications. I'm guessing that this may be why Sound Forge is always asking to be reinstalled, but I'm not sure about this because I cannot discover a pattern of failure. Any help you can offer here would be appreciated re the reinstallation issue, or the Office 97 conflict, or both! Thanks! |

suggestion: avoid any microsoft office product on your audio workstation LIKE THE PLAGUE. Barring that, make sure to close the ridiculous findfast program. |
