i'm sorry, but the layout of the forum sucks. you click on a topic and it takes you to the last post. then you have to click on the first post to see whats going on. then click on the next post. then click on the next post. it's only good if your writing back & forth with somebody, not the thousnds who just view it. a better way would be to have all the messages shown when you click on a topic with the first one on top. yeah?

We just changed the ordering of the forum posts, per your suggestion. Hope this helps, and thanks for using the forums!

I too had posted a thread on this in the past, when I first started coming to this forum:
http://www.sonicfoundry.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=1&MessageID=71004

The new ordering of in-thread posts is an improvement.

I would still suggest going over to the Adobe forums,
http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?14@@.ee6b366
to see their format, it is very efficient (with minimal cookies), and easy to navigate.

Thanks for every improvement.

We'll check out the Adobe Forum when we're prepare to make then next set of Forum improvements. Thanks for the tip.

I did look at your previous post... as you can see, you now have the ability to edit your posts.

Glad to see you're continuing to visit the Forums!

SonicKim,

Yes, I had to install a separate browser just to accept the SF cookies. It's one of the few things I let behind the firewall.

There are still a few awkward aspects to this forum layout (but we can discuss that in the future). Feel free to contact me by email if you want more feedback.

Two things seem dated and awkward here:

1) The latest active topics list is too small, and should be scrollable to include more. It's very slow and tedious at 56k to have to load another page of previous topics, and then reload back.

2) Once you've selected a post, you have to reload the whole thread page again, then load the next post, and so on. This is ridiculous. Most posts are short, and could be read on a smaller subframe below, without having to do a full reload. Sort of like e-mail. Then you just click on various posts from the thread and the load is quick.
