Sony...are you there? I've used Sonic Foundry and Sony products for years and have quite a collection, but I'm unable to register Sound Forge 9 even though I've had it registered before. I wouldn't mind so much if you (Sony) had a way to get it registered but you don't. The web site alternate options don't work (none of them!), you don't have phone support for registrations, and you haven't responded to any of the numerous e-mails that I've sent you. I have a card that came with Sound Forge that has the authentication code printed on it so you might think I don't need anything else. After all, I have a valid serial number, a machine ID, and an authentication code. What else could I ask for? How about a registration that "sticks." The offline registration works the first time (online never works), Sound Forge opens, it's registered, and everything is wonderful. If I shut it down and start it up again, it's not registered. C'mon Sony, get off your butt and fix my problem or the six applications I own are the end of the line for our non-working relationship. My account has your generous upgrade offers listed for only $239.95 but I'm not really inclined to buy them right now. You can get my email address from my account and just send along some new Sound Forge 9 registration numbers that will STICK. By the way, I really didn't like it when your automated customer support phone system hung up on me twice...that's bad for business too. Thanks...maybe. |

I'm also having trouble getting a response from SONY. My computer crashed and I built a new one. Tried to Register/Activate Audio Studio 9.0 (which shows as a registered product in my Account) without success. Tried the on line and off line without success. Submitted a Trouble Ticket (two time) and do not receive a reply. Very frustrating, as I often use Audio Studio to crop Music for the Rodeos. George |

Me to. I have had soundforge 8 upto four years now. And now they are telling me that I have used my download limit. What a load of crap, I purchased the software in good faith and Sony are not prepaired to back up there product. I have used many other sound editing programs and nothing compaires to SF, But why do theese companies have hold you to ransom because I have rebuilt a computer after the old computer hard drive died. And like you my account is genuine and after paying $230 that the company would support you and there product. Just get rid of that automative system the better off it would be. Come on Sony give the customer the respect they deserve. Tks Brian |

Oh dear - this does not sound good at all. I have just had to rebuild a crashed machine on which I had Audio Studio 9 and Movie Studio 9 installed and activated quite happily some 12 months ago and now neither will activate and the online form tells me I have an invalid serial no or machine ID and goes no further. I just raised support questions but this sounds like I can forget the whole thing. Not happy Joyce. |

Brian, did you mean to say "download limit"? That's a completely different issue from activation limit. You should always be able to download from here: http://download.sonymediasoftware.com/current/ |

After being quite gloomy after reading this thread I am happy to report that I have had a very prompt resolution to this issue - hopefully they will be as good with the same issue with my Cinescore plugin, which of course I could not attempt to register until I could access it from within VMS. So far very good. |
