analog to digital/mic problems -Sound Forge - PC - MAGIX Community Forums Archive

I just purchased sf5, I have an analog (Tascam 424 home studio) and I want to convert my tapes to digital for cd burning.Do I want to plug my portastudio into the mic jack or the line jack on my pc?What selection do I use on my sound properties for the mute?Also I have to keep going into my control panel because I lose my mic after every shutdown and restart,my pc keeps muting the mic and even after I unmute it,I have run voice test to get my mic working again, any solutions because this is becoming annoying.
