Maybe this is a question that can be answered with a simple no. I'm sure it would be by most so I need someone who has been in the audio world for a little while and knows a thing or two. The question I have is this: Can I enhance a voice above noise/static/whatever? I've been struggling with this for a few months now and am coming to the conclusion that it's impossible. Please, someone, prove me wrong! Thank you in advance for your response.

Very possible. Is there a portion of the recording where the noise is present, but no music or voice? If so, there are various tools that will let you sample the noise and make a "noiseprint". Then you can select how much of that noise you want removed from your signal. I've had great luck with SF's Noise Reduction plug-in. You might download the sample version and give it a try.
