Hi Guys,

I just purchased ACID Studio 8,
can you please advise an audio interface that can work perfectly with it.
I am willing to buy ALESIS MULTIMIX 4USB is that a good idea??
Thank you for your advise.

Mmm...according to Alesis' website, the MultiMix requires USB 1.1. This causes me to pause as USB 1.1 audio interfaces don't have a really good track record in terms of audio performance (things like stuttering due to an overcrowded USB bus, etc.).

Still, it should work fine with Music Studio 8. Just be aware of the limitations as I said above. Be sure to get the optional ASIO drivers for it at Alesis' website if you pick it up.

I would stay far away from Alesis. I have friend who has a Multimix firewire and it is constantly giving him problems and he's not alone. There is a whole bunch of people having problems with these devices. They look good on paper, but in practice they are a lot of trouble. Get something from M-Audio, Echo Audio, or PreSonus.

Thanks man,
I was about to buy Alesis Multimix.
I hesitated between M-audio and Alesis but now you made it clear.
I think I am gonna go for M-AUDIO MOBILE PRE MKII

Thanks a lot.

Fast Track Ultra 8in-8out M-Audio
I can't seem to find a single interface recommendation or compatibility reference through either M-Audio or Sony - so I'm seeking help here. Fast Track Ultra is an eight channel 'in' device. If I set up eight discrete signals into Fast Track Ultra and arm eight tracks in Acid Pro7, can I anticipate a successful recording of an audio signal per each of those tracks?
I'm looking for the hypothetical answer without regard for processor speed.

If the M-AUDIO Mobile Pre MKII is the type of interface you're looking for, may I suggest first taking a look at emu's 0404 USB 2.0 interface.

For a few dollars more than the Mobile Pre you get far better converters, not to mention all the software it comes with (if you need it) and more importantly the drivers work flawlessly in 64 bit.

Cheers
