Keith, Do you have the 1st edition of Sound Forge 5.0? If so, I believe that is your problem. When I first installed SF 5.0's 1st edition (5.0a???), I couldn't get the clip meter to appear when I recorded in 16 bit. When I upgraded to 5.0b (through the Sonic Foundry website) everything was okay. You should do a test and record things in different bit-depths to see how it affects your clip meter. I found that 24-bit recordings seemed the least flawed with the early version of SF 5.0. Hope that helps. - pup |
