Subject:recommend dj headphones?

can anyone recommend some of the latest most durable headphones that can handle lots of big thumping bassy beats and crank without a preamp? had a pair of sony mdr-v700 ($130 back in 2005 or so) that i loved and babied but flawed design allowed them to crack and break at a critical part of their structure. 50mm drivers and price around $100 ideal.
