I'm using Sound Forge v8.0 on an old PC and its working great, and have no desire to upgrade. When adding FX like a Reverb to the waveform say in the middle of a drum loop. How Do I get an FX "Tail" with this? I highlight the snare say, and add a long massive reverb, but it cuts out once the selection ends? How do i get a tail but not affect the other percussion with the same reverb? Sorry if its a simple question, but I can't find a solution? |

<Insert> a period of silence at the end of the clip, for the reverb to tail off into. geoff |

Following Geoff's suggestion is probably a good part of the solution, but if i understand correctly you have additional sound occurring right after that section that you don't want to delay or affect, right? I'd probably tackle this by highlighting that section and copy/pasting it to a new window (Ctrl-C, Ctrl-E). Add the extra silence to the end as Geoff suggests and then add the reverb. Back in the original window mute that selection, then copy/paste-mix the newly reverb'd part back over top of it. The tail new tail will mix with the existing sound, just like it would in if you were adding that effect to a separate track/channel. Of course, this assumes that during that little section there isn't any significant other sound besides that one snare hit. |

SF should add a fade effect past selection option. |

Yes the fade effect past selection option would be great... |
