I'm trying to do tiny editing, like .25 of a second and a lot of times the cursor will auto snap to a bigger chunk of the wave file. I see all the snapping settings in the options menu, but I'm not sure what does what, please help. Thanks in advance.

A check in front of Auto snap to zero would be normal. Zero refers to zero volume levels and includes the positve portion and the negative portion of a complete sine wave and not just half of a sine wave. For tiny detail work, such as using the pencil tool or copying and overwriting tiny portions, make sure neither one is checked. I've never used Autosnap to time so can't speak to it.
