OT: Sony HXR-MC50U & AC3

Thinking of getting a Sony HXR-MC50U. Anyone have any experience with this camera? Heard anything good or bad about it? Also it captures audio in AC3. Typically Vegas will not open AC3 on the timeline, but it is my understanding this is an AVCHD container so it can be edited with Vegas. Can someone point me to an AVCHD file I can download and see how it works?

TIA

Vegas will in fact open a AC3 file so long as it is in a MTS or M2TS container with proper avc video

Thanks for the reply Rob. Is the AC3 audio married to the video then? Not sure how to ask this. Is it still in two tracks one for video and one for audio? Can I cut the audio away to put something in its place if necessary, or can I put other video in with the AC3. The question make sense? Hmmm, okay, let's say I shot a Harley moving across my video field from left to right. Then I shot it again from right to left. Now, for sake of argument let's say I decide the pipe on the bike sound particularly better one direction than the other. Can I take the audio from the shot going left to right, and use it for the right to left shot?

Once your video is imported it along with 6 tracks audio will be seen. It will be GROUPED. In other words the audio and video will act as one. If you do not wish this and want to handle them as totally different entities then simply use the UNGROUP command. You will then be free to add, delete, move...etc the audio as you see fit.
