Pinnacle DV1000 -> SF 5.0 at 48 khz = mega distortion -Sound Forge - PC

We use SF5 and Vegas Audio to edit our AVID Media Composer audio, no problem. Same with the Pinnacle DC50. However, when we export audio from the DC1000DV (Pinnacle MPEG2/Premiere 5.1c RT) the files are terrible distorted/unusable in SF5. Okay in Vegas Audio. We use Vegas strictly as a mixer, SF5 is a better clip editor IMHO. Prefer not to export everyting as 44 khz but that is what we are doing until we find out the source of the problem. DC1000DV is in a PII 500 with 512 Meg RAM and a fairly recent Sound Blaster audio card.
