I have 8GB of RAM in my i7 PC. In ACID 7 the memory usage thing in the bottom right says 12/4,096. What exactly does that mean? I'm guessing the 4,096 is saying I only have 4GB of RAM? What does the 12 mean? I checked System Information and it's still saying I have 8GB of RAM. I've been suddenly getting "not enough RAM" error messages when running ACID with multiple VSTs, etc. but I never used to before. I'm using the ASIO4all driver. Any ideas? |

I forgot to mention I'm running Win7 64-bit. "About Acid Pro" show 8GB of RAM. Even in a blank project the memory usage says 12/4096 so I'm thinking it is not working? |

I'm not sure about the memory display, but I can tell you Acid Pro 7 will never use more than 3 or so GB. AP7 is a 32-bit application and so it can't access the extended memory that Win7 64-bit can. Sony needs to make a 64-bit version of Acid in order to use all your RAM (and you'd need 64-bit plugins to really take advantage of it all). Wish I had better news. |
