Well I just bought Sound Forge hoping to rip one audio CD and just found out that I can't. Even though the box says you can. And I also found out that I can't burn CD's in the standard ".cda" format. Sonic Foundry sucks and they are a bunch of FRAUDS!!!! I now have a useless product. Oh yes and the vegas audio LE that they so generously include and boast on the sound forge box expires 7 days after you install it. I guess they forgot to mention on the box that it was LE trial. FRAUDS!!!!!!!!!!!...ALL OF THEM FRAUDS!!!!!!

First of all, you CAN rip tracks with SF 5.0. I've been doing it since I bought it. You can also burn standard .wav files to CD-R with it. Both functions are found in the TOOLS menu.

Sounds like you don't know much about audio editors.

You can rip audio from a CD in the tools menu. If you are having difficulties doing this, please contact tech support and we can help. CDA isn't really a format, but that's a long story. Any 16-bit, 44,100KHz WAV file can be burned to a CD. The Vegas Audio LE is a full version, all you have to do is register it.

Once again, further reinforcement On my "Congratulations Sonic Foundry" post. Put a professional piece of audio software in the hands of an idiot and they expect it to read their minds and perform all the tasks without them even cracking the owners manual and doing a little reading.

My sympathy really goes out to the SF tech support.

BRILLIANT!!!

Brian Franz

I agree with SF sucks! I expected SF to write my songs for me and fix my lousy voice and get me lots of girls and wash my car! But NOOOOO! It just sits there, expecting me to read the instructions! SF, you can't push me around! I don't neeed no stinking instructions! I are a smart person without yer pdf files! :)

What owners manual? Ohh... you mean the owners PDF file. I love Sound Forge but I think Sonic Foundry has got a ways to go with customer satisfaction. I purchased Acid Pro 2.0 back when it first came out and was floored by the registration/re-registration/re-registration process whenever you upgrade your PC or wipe the hard drive. Anybody at SF ever get system rot and have to reformat windows before? Also I agree that Vegas LE is a joke.... You can't even play with it for a few minutes without being innundated with "BUY THE FULL VERSION NOW" dialogs. I'm just curious why the options are even in the pull down menus if they don't work! Sonic Foundry is starting to build an image with me as a slick marketing company that doesn't appeal to the audio professional, apart from Sound Forge which is essentially what made the company and continues to be their premiere product. But even Sound Forge is starting to lose shares to Cool Edit Pro, Wavelab, even Cubase VST because those products will do multitrack at the same price and certainly less than Sound Forge + Vegas Audio.

Could it be that you don't know how to use SF?
