Subject:missing plugins after new install

Hi, I scrolled through the forum and couldn't find a similar post. Just bought ACID 7 and four loop libraries. Launch ACID 7 and open any of the sample projects and get error:
Plug-in:"Sony Track EQ' failed to load. Please make sure the plug-in is properly installed.

This is a Win7 64 bit with Sound Forge 10 and Vegas 9 installed, if that makes a difference to the plug-in directories. I haven't used ACID since 2003 so any help pointing the program to the plug-in will be greatly appreciated.

Did you try uninstalling and then reinstalling ACID? You can install the "update" by itself as it acts as a full version; keep your serial key handy.

Thanks, I thought I could run a repair pass but the installer said "product alleady installed...blah...blah" so I removed via Win7 rebooted and reinstalled but no joy. Would the same plugins reside in Vegas and Sound Forge somewhere?

Make sure you delete any folder residue after you uninstall ACID. (This includes the folders "Program Files (x86)\Sony Setup\ACID Pro 7.0" and "Program Files (x86)\Sony\ACID Pro 7.0".)

I believe the Track EQ is part of the Track FX 1 plug-in which is "sftrkfx1.dll" in "Program Files (x86)\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Audio". If it's not there, there's something wrong. (Can Vegas and/or Sound Forge intitialize the Track EQ plug-in? They should be able to as I can in Sound Forge Pro 10.)

mD,

I'm getting similar errors with plug-in(s) after I installed box version of ACID Pro 7. Uninstalled, downloaded and installed Pro 7e, but getting the same error. For example, when attempting to load Lil Groove.acd, error details says, "Plug-in: 'ExpressFX Reverb' failed to load. Please make sure the plug-in is properly installed."

Checked "Program Files (x86)\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Audio\" and sftrkfx1.dll is there.

System: Sony F Series Windows 7 64bit.

aloha, jazzsurfer

Look I the plug-in manager view.

Is the plugin that was reported missing listed?

This Knowledge base article may be relative.

You may also need to use admin privileges when installing on Windows 7.

One thing to try:

Locate sftrkfx1.dll

Start ACID or Sound Forge.

Drag the dll on to either app. This should register the plug-in.

Exit ACID if it is ruining and restart.
