Subject:Compatible MIDI controllers for Pro7

Newbie here so go easy. Wanting to update my keyboard and get something like a Novation Nocturn or similar...any recommendations for what works best with ACID Pro 7 re MIDI-mapping and using faders for mixer etc?
Any tips most appreciated

You can pretty much use any MIDI controller with ACID Pro 7.

If you don' t have something like a Faderport or a TranzPort, you can set up a generic controller (not as bad as it sounds) and have ACID "learn" its controls for doing tasks like adjusting a particular track's volume or panning.

Cheers...had seen the faderport and though it looked a great idea...hadn't seen tranzport but it looks kinda interesting too...faderport edges it I think. Budget may mean I have to go for something 'workhorse' like a Novation for now though...

In an ideal world that would definitely be the option...kinda looking at sub £400 for the moment though

As I mentioned, you can practically use any MIDI controller; you just have to set it up as a generic controller and have ACID learn the controls you want.

e.g., I can set up my M-Audio Oxygen8's eight knobs to control volume or panning. Keyboards in this range average for around $125 (USD).

I had great success with my Akai MPK49, which has pads, knobs, faders, and a good 49 key keyboard with aftertouch. Acid Pro 7s MIDI Learn made it real easy to get things working.

Cheers for that info...I do like the look of the Akis...they've got the faders, dials and pads to do the lot really. Good to know you have a positive experience with them...may well end up going for the MPK49 too. Cheers
