Subject:Horrible glitchy sound while playback

hello everyone..
just wondering if anynody could give me a hand with this issue i got...
lately, without any explanation (no recent changes, updates or plugins in the system) while playback i get horrenous clicks which sound like this:

any ideas of what might be causing that? my soundcard is an RME Audio DSP Hammerfall on windows xp s3.

Which version (and build) of ACID? Basic specs of your system? Done a spyware/antivirus scan?

does it happen when you hit BYPASS ALL EFX
