Subject:please help with annoying prob...

i just got acid 2.0 (hip-hop version)last night
and everyhting was working fine until today
now about 2 minutes into fooling around with the prg.
i get this shity illegal operation come up and the prg. crashes
i re-installed and it stil does the same thing

WTF is up with that? any one else with this prob or anyhting like it
i have re-installed as i said so that is not the prob, i even disabled the .wav device for my modem cause that can cause some probs too, but it wasnt that
is there anyhting else i can do?

specs
duron 700
256 meg ram
Voodoo 5
30 gig HD
yahmaha 16bit pci sound card
and so on...

The initial things to start to look at would be 1)Make sure that you are using the latest update for Acid. You can download this from www.sonicfoundry.com/download. The update is contained in the Updates section. 2) Make sure that you have installed the latest drivers for you sound and video cards. 3)Install the latest version of Direct X which you can get from www.microsoft.com/direct x.

well ive updated everyhting i can on my system even my mobo
but i discovered the only time it crashes(and it does always)
is when i start looking through the folders to get the
samples/loops and put them in the main screen, with out a doubt each time i just click on a sample to even preview it the sound it cause that illegal action
its the dumbest problem i have ever seen
and its pissing me off
damn mircocrap and their OS's
if there are any other theories i would be greatful
