Protype Tilter - slow update to preview window

Christian de Godzinsky wrote on 1/9/2011, 10:42 AM
Hi,

Haven't used the PTT in VP10 ,only in 9. In 10c the preview seems to be slow or very lazy to update. Just opened an new, totally empty project (with all project default settings), dragged one PTT preset (centered) to the timeline. All edits to the text shows normally in the PTT window, but the preview just "forgets" to update with the latest edit. If I move the text or try to modify it, then the former edit show in the preview window. Annoying when WYSIWYG is not working as expected...

Is this normal behaviour? I did not see this in 9

Cheers,

Christian

Same here (10b), giving focus to project TL updates the preview as expected.

It looks like a part of a wider problem with GUI refresh callback notifications: I can remove OFX keyframes and see the project TL not updated until it gets focus.

Thanks LoTN for confirming, appreciated!

Even that this is a "small" bug that you can live with - it's very annoying when you try to do some interactive animation using the Pro Type Titler and the response in the preview is lacking the last edit... argh...

Strange how VP10 deteriorates having more and more NEW bugs with every release... I know that a complex software - like any video editing software - is quite hard to test, but I wonder - don't they have someone doing some serious work on during beta testing - or what? In my humble opinion, this should have been noticed before a release. I noticed it within 5 minutes after I started to use PPT for the first time in VP10c.

I will report this to SCS, hopefully you do it as well, as anyone else that suffer..

Cheers,

Christian

I can report if it helps.

On my side, after a few tries if decided to not suffer with PTT at all :-)))

It's acting as if the generated pro type media is offline when the pro type window is active. It is a step backward in terms of the fast workflow vegas is known for. There are more bugs with spicemaster's gui, too.

I am having this issue as well. PTT works fin in 10a. I have reported issue to SCS. I use PTT every day. Very annoying.

Hi,

Thanx for reporting - as well! This is more than annoying - it makes the interactive use of PTT totally impossible. Back to the old text generator....aaarghh...

Hard to understand how something like this can break between BUG FIX versions...

it would seem there's more things getting broken than being fixed with 10c.

i am hoping that d, when it comes out, addresses the list of mounting problems and that scs are not pursuing more features at the expense of reliability and stability....

Yeah, some bugs last forever. The drop media lose all transition bug has been here since Vegas 7. Really makes me wonder who's sailing the ship and will they ever care.
