Can anyone tell me how to use this on an audio track in Acid Pro 7.0e? The plugin needs midi info input to it so that it can effect the audio track. I appreciate any work arounds necessary. Thx

ACID does not permit routing MIDI into an Audio FX.

There are no work arounds with in ACID.

So is this a feature Sony plans to add say in Acid Pro 8? I am really surprised this feature does not already exist in Acid Pro... even Reaper and FL Studio can do it... I would like to continue using Acid Pro as my main DAW but why the lack of something that seems so easy to implement.

Thx for replying. I really want to use both Stutter Edit & Melodyne. Am I waiting in vain for Acid Pro 8 w/the ability to use these plugins? I switched from mac to pc in '98/'99 when Acid 1st hit the scene and it has been my main program since. I've taught seminars on how to use Acid and promoted it w/in my industry for 10 years. I seem to be at a crossroads now. If Sony would at least give some indication that there would be a new release in the near future that would deter me from switching to another daw.

Mark, I am in the same boat, been using Acid Pro since version 1 and love it but this is one of the reasons most do not think of it as a real DAW even after they finally implemented a lot of must have features needed to be someones main DAW. However a lot of the other programs out there are starting to really differentiate themselves as leaders in the DAW arena and Acid is not even considered a DAW in most industry media. I hope they do something soon to really step it up Acid Pro 8 has the potential to be fantastic but it will need to resolve missing features especially one that will effect the use of plug ins.... I was hoping for a NAMM announcment as version 8 is due out based on past releases.... I am downloading trial version of Reaper right now so I can test out the trial version of Stutter edit.... pretty sad!

Waketek...I see we came to the same conclusion...I downloaded Reaper today as well! Going to try it out. I would even consider running Acid alongside another program via MTC or SMPTE. When Acid came out, it was more like an instrument. Then they tried to make it more like a full fledged DAW & took away some of the features I like (such as being able to pitch shift looped events to + or - 64 instead of just 24). I just don't understand the lack of updates. Sound Forge & Vegas stay at the top of their respective markets. I'm not sure why Acid has been left behind. Could not believe that the Reaper install file was only about 5mb.

I agree, I use Sound Forge and Vegas as well and both have frequent updates but Acid Pro gets left out.... Reaper install size is very nice and if this is a good work around to use Stutter Edit I may buy the discounted license which is only 40.00...and use this as a stand alone processor and render out my audio effects and drop back into Acid... Not ideal but hopefully Sony breaks the silence on Acid 8 and adds the features we need to stay competive..... Let me know how your testing goes with Reaper, I had something come up so will not be able to test until later this weekend.

Well, got a chance to try it out and via Reaper Stutter edit worked very well. Need to play with it some more but most likely I will get a copy along with Reaper and use the two as a standalone Stutter edit app I guess. Just need to figure out best way to record or render audio with Fx rendered tracks within Reaper... Please Sony release Acid 8 soon and allow the flexability that Reaper and all the other major DAW's have adapted to work with new plugins that are coming out. I should not need to buy another DAW to run a VST, that should easily function in Acid.

There is a work around for acid to use stutter edit, artillery 2 , effectix, it is called plogue bidule.

you load it up as a vst on a mixing bus, when it opens, you can open any vst plugin, and virtually wire it up.

you also have to use midi yoke and have the outs on acid, but not the ins. shout out to coolout.

If some one could recommend the program that records realtime video of your computer screen to make tutorials, i will do one.

thanks in advance.

ozzborn...thanks for this but I need help. I've got both Bidule & Midi Yolk installed but I can't seem to patch it correctly. Cam Studio has free screen recording software.

ozzborn...I finally got it to work!!! Thank you so much...I knew there had to be a workaround...now I can stop trying to figure out how to use Live...at least for the time being. If only Sony would at least tell us if they are releasing any more versions of Acid Pro or if 7 is the end of the line.

let me know if melodyne works with bidule... i know izotope nectar does not work, or at least i cant figure it out.

bidule is not perfect in acid if you are doing parallel compression with uad cards, once or twice it would not load but it works most of the time.

i wonder if it works with rewire and i could load reason thru bidule.
