Subject:Opening .mp3's shuts down my Sound Forge!

Everytime I open an .mp3 file in Sound Forge 4.5 it shuts down the program. I am downloading this .mp3's off of Morpheus ( another napster style program ). Can someone please help me with this problem? I want to open them and burn them to a CD! Also, do I have to open the .mp3's and save them as .wav files before I can add them to CD Architect and then burn them? Its not possible to just open them as .mp3's in CD Architect and just make each song a track and then burn them? Please email me back at "kidkaz@kidkaz.com" with any help! I will try to make it back to this board, but its easier for me to get to my mail everyday than it is to get to this board. Thanks!

If you are getting crashes when opening MP3 files in Sound Forge, I would suggest the following:

Uninstall Sound Forge 4.5 using Add/Remove Programs
Uninstall the MP3 Plug-In (if it is listed)
Reinstall Sound Forge from your CD
Install the Sound Forge 4.5h update from the download section of our website

This should take care of it.

In reference to your second question, CD Architect does not support the MP3 file format, you will need to convert your files to WAV files before you can open them in CD Architect.

Hope this helps.
