Say I've recorded 4 bars on a MIDI track. Say I want to add more bars to that. I place the cursor at the 1st beat of the next bar ,record the second part, and as the 2 bar count-off is going ACID erases notes from the original clip. What do I do? |

Are you using the MIDI merge feature? Turn it on near the transport controls; button looks like a zipper. Iacobus |

Thanks mD. I have used the Midi Merge, but it only allows me to add to the current section, in other word, if I;ve recorded 4 bars, midi merge allows me to record ONLY in those 4 bars. I want to record starting in Bar 5 and contiuing. I've also tried recording later on in the track with ithe intention of sliding the new clip into the previous one. Not a note will record |

I'm trying to repro but cannot seem to do so. I started a new project and added a MIDI track routed to a soft synth (Kore Player, in this case). I recorded a few bars, then stopped. I then turned on MIDI merge and recorded on top of what I had already recorded and then once it reached the end of the existing clip, it simply extended it until I was done. Make sure the track's clip in question has focus. You can tell when a clip has focus by the matching shade in relation to the track. (Instead of white, it will be the track's color.) |

Thanks mD, I tried your suggestion. The new recording replaces the old clip but stops recording at the end of the clip. Have a request in for tech support, but am not hopeful as they have yet to solve 1 issue out of 7. |
