Subject:HELP! Can not record with M-Audio fastrack pro!

I can not get this audi interface that I bought, an M-audio fastrack pro system, to work with my acid 8 software. I am getting a signal when I plug in guitar. I have installed the most recent version of the m-audi fastrack software (disk in box did not work with my system- I am on win 7). I have tried setting my sound card to default playback and to record. I bought this M-audio so I can stop the latency problem. I would like to use this acid software to it's potential, but I cant even get it to record! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't use Music Studio 8, but if I recall, can't you select a specific device under Options > Preferences > Audio Device? Is the Fast Track Pro listed there?

Is the Fast Track actually being reported as connected per M-Audio's KB page?

Thanks for replying... I got it to record. Silly me, I was trying to record my guitar as midi. But now my problem is TERRIBLE latency! It is so bad I am about to give up on acid studio. Im so frustrated. That is the reason why I spent money on an audio interface, Sony is registering the m-audio interface, and it is recording, it is just still ever so off. Any suggestions?

Are you using ASIO?

Define exactly what you mean by latency?
