Subject:Unreadable WAVs and project details

This morning I had a problem activating FX in Acid 3b, so I reinstalled it. No Improvement. So I removed the installation and installed from scratch.
Acid will not open any previous projects successfully at all now... it won't play any WAV files from any source and it won't record. The files themselves are still there because I can play them through Soundforge and Zero-X Beat Creator. Also Siren will not play WAVs either, though it will play AIFs... (My computer's not a Mac of course).
My wife is about to beat me to death because I'm wasting my life. HELP!!!

First, I'd try running the maintenance wizard from Add/Remove Programs, and choosing "Repair". If that doesn't do the trick, do a search for a file called wavplug.dll on your system. When you find it, drag it from the Windows explorer to an open ACID 3.0 window, and choose "Yes" to register it.

Hope this helps,
Joel

Thanks for the suggestions Joel, but neither of them worked.
I wonder if the registry is messed up.

I'll wait a day or two to see if there are any other suggestions to try, ...otherwise I'll have to reformat the HD and start again.

PARTIAL SUCCESS....
I took Joel's suggestion one stage further and repaired (via the add/remove prog function) not only Acid, but Sound Forge and Siren.
I have managed to load my files and play them, though the explorer files at the bottom of Acid will not play at all.
Any other help will be most welcome.
Thanks.
