I was an acid head in the '70's so I should be able to figure this out (especially since I've done it before) but I can't seem to connect my MIDI keyboard to my computer via PreSonus Firebox using ACID. Is there anyone out there that uses MIDI and a Firebox that can remind me how I did this six months ago when I was in my previous songwriting mode? |

As long as the drivers are properly installed for the Firebox, it shouldn't be a problem. Remember that the MIDI out on the keyboard goes to the MIDI in connection on your Firebox; conversely, if your MIDI keyboard provides it, the MIDI out on the Firebox goes into the MIDI in on your keyboard. Ensure that the keyboard is transmitting on the right MIDI channel. Once you do all that, it's just a matter of setting up a MIDI track to be controlled by your keyboard. By default, this is done automatically whenever the track has focus. (Make sure the MIDI track is also receiving MIDI on the right channel; again, it's all of them by default but you can specify a specific channel.) Iacobus |
