Hello there,

I'm trying to record a long background music clip from various MP files which are already on line. Is there any way I can do the recording with Sound Forge without using a microphone?.. Can it be somehow done internally??

Thanks,
Ivan

Assuming your using a current version of Windows, you can select "What You Hear" in you Windows Audio Mixer and SF will record every sound your computer makes. (Including all your Windows sounds, so don't close programs etc or you will have strange sounds added to you songs)

I believe sound forge supports every format that media player plays, except CD audio. So if you're not playing a CD, why bother recording, just open it in sound forge? If you're recording from a CD then you need to us Microsoft sound mapper.

Oh, yeah I forgot, you can even rip audio from CD's which is located in the "Tools" menu. So why would you need to use Media Player at all?
